False Ceiling Design in Hyderabad.

The fifth wall, considered.

The ceiling is the one surface in a room nothing sits against, which makes it the surface most people forget. We treat it as the fifth wall: a way to shape the volume, hide services, and place light exactly where it is needed.

Gypsum, wood and metal, cove lighting, recessed and track fixtures — detailed as part of the whole room rather than added at the end. A ceiling also does hard work in a Hyderabad home: it hides AC ducting and drain lines, carries the fan and speakers, and softens the sound of a hard floor.

How it runs

The process, step by step.

  1. 01

    Room and services survey

Slab height, beam positions, AC and duct routes, fan points, sprinkler lines. The ceiling design starts from what has to be hidden and where the height can be kept.

  2. 02

    Design with the lighting plan

Cove, recessed, profile and pendant positions are drawn with the ceiling, not after it, so light falls where you read, cook and eat.

  3. 03

    Detail and shop drawings

Levels, drops, recesses, access panels and profile channels dimensioned for the site team.

  4. 04

    Framing and boarding

GI framing set to level, boards fixed and jointed, services pulled through before closing.

  5. 05

    Finish and commission

Skim, paint, fixtures installed, drivers commissioned, and every light switched on with you in the room.

Timeline

Design is usually folded into the room or whole-home design; on its own, a week to ten days. Installation of a full apartment's ceilings runs two to three weeks including finishing and lighting, and it is one of the first trades on site so everything else can follow.

Gypsum board
Moisture-resistant grades in kitchens and bathrooms, standard elsewhere, on a GI frame at 600mm centres.
Timber and veneer
Timber-look battens and veneered panels for warmth over dining tables and beds, with the joints and battens spaced to the room.
Lighting profiles
Recessed aluminium profiles with diffusers for continuous lines of light; warm-white LED strip on quality drivers so it does not flicker or drift.
Acoustic panels
Perforated or fabric-wrapped panels where a room echoes — home theatres, dining rooms, offices.
Access
Discreet access panels at AC units and valves so the ceiling never has to be cut open.
Cost

What drives the price.

We quote the full scope in writing before work begins — design, materials, labour, transport and handover — as line items you can read. No percentage-on-top surprises, and outstation travel appears as its own line rather than inside the rates.

  • Area covered and the number of levels or drops in the design
  • Straight runs versus curves and coffers
  • Timber and veneer elements versus plain gypsum
  • Length of concealed lighting profile and the driver specification
  • Acoustic treatment
  • Slab height and how much has to be concealed

From our work

A recently handed-over Hyderabad villa

Coffered ceilings outlined in a continuous line of LED light run through the living, dining and bedrooms, carrying the fans, AC diffusers and speakers as one composed surface — photographed at handover.

Questions

Asked before most false ceiling projects.

How much height do we lose?
As little as 75mm for a flat ceiling with concealed lighting; more where ducting has to be hidden. We tell you the finished height before you sign.
Gypsum or POP?
Gypsum board for flatness, speed and cleanliness in almost every case; POP only for mouldings or repairs on an existing POP ceiling.
Can we add a ceiling to one room only?
Yes, and it is a good way to add cove lighting to a living or master bedroom without touching the rest of the home.
